When four strangers get identical letters requesting their swift return home, they discover their families may be the keys behind the political unrest within the Fire Nation.
Written collaboratively with a team of five other writers, this table-top adventure came out of a semester-long class on RPG writing offered by Carnegie Mellon University. Taught by Chris Klug at the Entertainment Technology Center, the emphasis of the course was on interactive game writing in which the player is an active contributor to the story telling. Challenges included matching style when creating a narrative in a group and working to craft a story that was satisfying no matter how players chose to engage with it. Our game “Avatar: Ascendants” is an original story that takes place in the “Avatar: The Last Airbender” universe.
